Pub Crawl will start at the Miami Yacht Club (behind Jungle Island) at 6:00pm, hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Buses will depart at 7:00 PM to Finnegan's on Lincoln Road, Quinn's on Ocean Drive, Drexel Irish Pub and The Playwright.
Buses will depart our last Pub at 11:30 PM and return to the Miami Yacht Club at Midnight. Discounted Drinks.

More Irish stories will be read by Dan Fitzgerald, Past President of The Emerald Society and Mary Ann Kerr, the current First Lady of The Emerald Society. Dan Fitzgerald is a veteran of many plays and films. He spends time each week reading stories in the Miami-Dade school system. Mary Ann Kerr was a teacher in the Miami-Dade school system for 28 years. She has read stories at the Epiphany and Pinecrest schools.
Contemporary Irish Music

The music of Ireland has changed considerably and Irish singer and instrumentalist, Paddy Kelleghan will tell us about these changes based upon his reverie of growing up in Dublin along with tales of famous Irish musicians. Since he travels with his guitar or mandolin, he can be urged him to play and sing some of those Irish songs.
The classic motion picture "The Informer"

The Informer, directed by John Ford and starring Victor McLaglen, has long been considered a classic motion picture. The movie is about an Irish rebel in 1922 who informs on his friend and then feels doom engulfing him. Pat McCarthy, PhD, Chairman of the English Department at The University of Miami and Co-Editor of the James Joyce Literary Supplement, will discuss the motion picture and the impact it has had on Irish motion pictures, culture and politics.
The Kilt

The kilt is important in all Celtic countries, from Galicia to Scotland to Ireland. Neil and Terry McShane, the proprietors of Kilts ‘N More, a firm that makes custom kilts, will discuss the history of kilts and reveal what the tartans mean.
A Staged Reading of the play, An Irish Engagement

The Celtic Cultural Players have a three-year successful record of producing staged readings of Irish plays. This year they will launch An Irish Engagement, a one-act comedy by Walter Watts. The play is an old-fashioned farce that paints vivid pictures of Irish people at the time of the Great Famine.
The 2010 St. Patrick’s Day Festival
Saturday, March 12, 2011 from noon to 6pm
The annual event offers great Irish entertainment, food, beverages and various Irish craft articles which make great souvenirs. The kids will be entertained by The Leprechaun Corner featuring a merry-go round and face painting, a giant slide and rock climbing. The Miss Colleen Pageant is an important part of the Festival.

The Trouble with Paddy Part II

One out of ten Americans claims Irish descent. The presentation will continue the development of Irish identity from ancient times to the present. Kim Garvey started this discussion in the 2009-2010 season and she so enthralled the audience that she was asked back to do Part II.
Oscar Wilde

Oscar Wilde was truly a wild man but also a great writer. Michael Gillespie PhD, a renowned Joycean scholar in his second year in the English Department of Florida International University, will discuss Wilde’s controversial life and his wonderful writing. Dr. Gillespie came to Miami from a long, successful career at Marquette University.
Bloomsday Family Day

Coral Gables Branch Library, 3443 Segovia Street, Coral Gables. In anticipation of the Bloomsday Celebration on the following Thursday, an authentic Irish tea will be presented accompanied by Irish music from the world-famous Irish fiddler, James Kelly.

Books & Books, 265 Aragon Avenue, Coral Gables. June 16, 1904 marks the date when Stephen Dedalus and Leopold Bloom embarked on their epic journey through Dublin in James Joyce’s masterpiece Ulysses. The 107th Anniversary of Bloomsday begins at Books and Books with readings from Ulysses by professional actors. Then the audience marches around the block, led by a piper and flag bearers to John Martin’s Irish Restaurant where they celebrate in earnest.
